Breakfast at Poshtel Oamaru New Zealand

different kinds of cereals and Weet-bix and some different juices

Since I was staying at Poshtel in Oamaru, New Zealand, I decided to check out their breakfast options (you can also read about my breakfast experience at Star and Garter Restaurant Oamaru). There weren’t a lot of items for breakfast. But there were different kinds of cereals and Weet-bix and some different juices available.

Breakfast at Poshtel Oamaru New Zealand: Limited but Healthy Options

gluten free options

There were even gluten free options for people who didn’t eat gluten. I could also see lots of fruits and a muffin arranged on the table. Extra containers of cereals like corn flakes and mixed berry muesli were also available. Salt and pepper containers were kept in easy reach in case guests needed them.

bananas, oranges, apples and pears

The fruits, like bananas, oranges, apples and pears were kept next to a wooden chopping board with knives on it. Guests could pick their own fruits and slice them if they wanted to. As you can see in the image above, there was even a plate full of tomatoes on the table.

bowl with canned apricots in sugar syrup

Just beside the container of Weet-bix, there was a bowl with canned apricots in sugar syrup. I spooned a couple of those onto my plate. It was really sweet but it was a nice addition to the fresh fruits at the breakfast.

Jars of honey, maple syrup and Nutella

Jars of honey, maple syrup and Nutella were kept next to the butter dish. People could add any of these things to their toast. In addition to that, there were little packets of apricot jam, citrus marmalade and strawberry jam.

orange juice or apple juice

There were large jars of juice kept on the breakfast counter too. There were two options. Guests choose to have orange juice or apple juice.

little replica of a cannon

There was a cute little replica of a cannon in one corner of the breakfast room.

container filled with bread and bagels was kept right beside the toaster

A container filled with bread and bagels was kept right beside the toaster. And there were tongs that I could use to pick the bread up.

different containers of milk, Greek yogurt and juice

The staff had kept different containers of milk, Greek yogurt and juice in the big refrigerator.

options for coconut and oat milk and also dairy milk

There were options for coconut and oat milk and also dairy milk. Containers of butter and flavored yogurts were kept on the upper shelves.

freshly brewed pot of coffee in the coffee maker and sachets of tea and sugar

There was a freshly brewed pot of coffee in the coffee maker and sachets of tea and sugar were kept in a box beside the coffee maker.

breakfast room

The breakfast room wasn’t very big. But it was bright and colorful. There was a wall painted bright green and another wall painted grey and there were paintings on the walls.

some potted plants in the room

The hotel had also kept some potted plants in the room to add a bit of greenery.

there weren’t a lot of guests inside

When I went to the breakfast room, there weren’t a lot of guests inside. All the food had been neatly laid out on the counters and the island in the centre.

prints and posters that had been hung on the walls

I really liked the prints and posters that had been hung on the walls.

cannon from up close

The cannon was also very fascinating. I took a picture of it from up close.

White mugs and teacups

White mugs and teacups had been neatly kept on the shelves above the counter.

two wooden tables and chairs

There were two wooden tables and chairs where guests could sit down.

Some old artifacts and decorative items had been hung on the walls

Some old artifacts and decorative items had been hung on the walls. It was a small space but it was nicely decorated.
