My Stay at Osaka Excel Hotel Tokyu

My Stay at Osaka Excel Hotel Tokyu

Tokyu Hotel with festive lights at night

Room Tour and Night View

Colorful city street with lit trees

I stayed at the Excel Hotel Tokyu in Osaka for three nights, and the first thing that I noticed was the look of the building at night. The LED sign of Tokyu Hotels shined up on the building, and the nearby streets were decorated with trees covered in blue and festive lights (Probably due to Christmas during my visit). The Excel Hotel Tokyu is part of the big group Tokyu Hotels, that owns many hotels in the  Japan, mostly in bigger cities.

The hotel building also has other stores, because I saw different floors listed for a restaurant, bar and even dental office, I do not well remember which exactly on those floors so I took this image.  I only remember that I had a great Unagi bowl in Chikuyotei restaurant inside the same building (Level 2F).

The check-in happened normally without anything special. In the lobby, the staff helped with the check-in, and everything was quiet when I arrived.

After the check-in, I walked a bit in the common areas before going to my room. Next to the stairs there is a  Christmas tree, which made sense since it was the holiday season. The view was simply nice.

I planned to come back down and hang out here, but in the end I did not make it.

What amazed me about that stay was the night city view through those big windows of the common spaces. I wonder if the rooms on higher floors have even better view. The Hotel has a good spot in Osaka and you can get around easily from here, which is honestly the main thing that matters for me when I choose a place for stay.

Next, I just go to my room for a simple room tour. They did provide slippers in the room. I always take home the slippers of the hotel (just like some of you LOL).

The Japanese “Smart” toilet is the basic, this is very important for me!

Modern bidet control panel and holder

A small fridge was inside a cupboard, that I opened but never used.

The bed was big and a hanging light above it. I dropped on it, and it was so soft that I did not want to get up. Not sure if this was their standard room or a slight upgrade better, but the size seemed okay.

There is also a desk with chair. The setup a bit reminded me of that in The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Umekoji where I stayed before, although there everything was more modern and bright compare to this one.

An air cleaner also provided, which is already very common in Japanese hotel rooms today.

The bathroom had a bathtub with a showerhead, and I planned to skip the bath, but the tub looked too good so that I ran one before bed. The water pressure was okay, maybe a bit weaker than I hoped, although maybe because of the floor that I was on.

Body soap, conditioner and shampoo were also provided, a big bottle one, not the small one.

Three white shampoo bottles on shelf

That’s all for the room tour of my stay. Overall I would say although the room itself is not really the luxury one, it is still good value for the money. Before the booking, I did research few more hotels other than this one, but they are either on the higher price end or the hotel did not meet the expectations.

So this hotel is my final choice and I booked here. Medium price level hotel, not the best in Osaka, but met my expectations.
