Chongqing to Chengdu High-Speed Train (Fuxing): This Was Really Impressive
I travelled from Chongqing to Chengdu on the high speed train for the first time. The train station was very large and clean, with high ceilings and bright lights. There were advertisements and big TV screens everywhere.
The platforms were all numbered so travelers could easily find their way. There were big boards showing the names of the trains and the numbers of the platforms. I looked at it to check the status of my train.
There were lots of people sitting on the hard plastic chairs and walking about the station. The train station almost looked like an airport. It was very modern and cool.
I had a little bit of time on my hands so I walked around the station and took some photos. Then I decided to go to my platform and find my train.
The high speed train or Fuxing train was already standing at the platform. I looked in through the window. The seats were still empty because they hadn’t opened the train doors yet.
Everyone was waiting so that they could climb onto the train as soon as the doors opened. I joined the line of waiting travelers.
There was a yellow line on the platform so that people didn’t get too close to the train tracks. That could be dangerous.
There was plenty of space to store my luggage behind the seats on the train.
Smaller bags could be kept in the overhead luggage racks. The train filled up quickly and the aisles were soon filled with people trying to find their seats.
I quickly found my seat and sat down. The chairs were quite comfortable and covered in cloth.
I had booked a first class seat and there was a lot of leg room. I could stretch my legs and get comfortable.
There were some magazines in the pocket of the seat before me. There was also a place to rest my feet in front of me.
I looked through the window as the train started moving.
I watched mountains, cities, buildings and roads pass us by. The view was really lovely. It was a cloudy day. The sky wasn’t blue and sunny. I was sure that it would look even prettier on a clear day.
There was enough room on the windowsill to keep a small cup of water or tea. I liked how big the windows were and how clean the glass was.
I reached Chengdu station after only an hour and fifteen minutes of travel (I stayed at the Chengdu Grand Hyatt Hotel and the Wanda Reign Hotel Chengdu where I had an excellent breakfast buffet during my visit here.).
