Tune Hotel KLIA2 have been one of the more pleasant surprise in my fair share of nights near airports. After flying into KL from Nanning at night, I had to find somewhere nearby to spend the night before going home the following day. Since hotel is literally within a ten-minute walking distance from terminal, the decision was pretty easy for me.
It’s not a luxurius place to stay by any means, but as far as a clean, no-frills budget hotel right next to an airport goes, it does its job well. Here is how my stay went.

I arrived at the hotel after a long flight, so I was happy to find the lobby quiet. The decor are standard, stripped-down budget hotel style, and everything is very moddern. However, check-in process was efficient, and I got my key card in minutes.
There’s a self-service water station where you can grabs something on the way up, and although it might seem like a small thing, free water are a big deal when you’ve just finished an evening of travel.
If you have a long layover or just want somewhere to hang out for a bit, they’ve also created a little reading lounge area. To be honest, I didn’t stay because I was too exhausted, but I could of imagine how helpful it would be if you were there during daylight hour.
It wasn’t a large room, actualy quite tiny, but it contain everything I required. Most of the room were taken up with the bed; beside the door was just enough space for me to unpack my suitcase. The air conditioning work well.
The mattress was comfortable and firm. There was also a small safe in the nightstand. It’s certainly not luxurious but for an overnight stopover, I couldn’t complain too much.
The bathroom was also on the small side but functional. There was a rain shower that provided a good stream of hot water, which was honestly all I care about after my flight. All of the fixture seemed relatively moddern and everything were clean.
The room also had a ceiling fan, which is one thing that stood out to me. The air con was cool enough that I didn’t use it. I’m sure it keep electricity bills low if you stay here during the day when you might not want such heavy cooling.
At roughly RM100 per night, that were solid value for what I got. The point is that you’re not paying for much… You’re paying for convenience and location.
And on those fronts, Tune Hotel KLIA2 deliver. Would I stay here if I were on vacation? Nope.
But for a one-night stay when I need to get closer to the airport, it couldn’t have been better. It took me about a dozen minutes (with my bag) to walk from the hotel to terminal in the morning, and I check in without breaking a sweat. Have you ever stayed at any of the Tune Hotels?
