Tao De Casserole: Definitely One of the Best Restaurants in Chengdu

The Tao De Casserole in Chengdu was very brightly lit, with signs in front of the doors and windows. I could see big glass windows everywhere. I was excited to try the food there for the first time.

When I entered, I saw that there were two staff members behind the counter. There were also shelves and shelves of drinks behind them. Things like Sprite and Coca Cola, all kinds of different juices and beer were available.

The restaurant was still pretty empty. Only a few customers were sitting at the tables. There were round tables for two and rectangular tables for large groups on the other side of the room.

I first ordered a beer. The bottle of beer came with a small glass. When I poured myself a drink, it was a pale and pure golden color. It was really pretty to look at and the beer was also very smooth and good.

The restaurant staff had also given me a plate and pairs of wooden chopsticks to eat my food.

Then I had the bean and pork. Everything was served in these traditional dishes and pots to keep them warm. The beans were bright green and flat and I was glad that there were some vegetables in my meal. The pork had been cooked perfectly, along with a lot of red onions.

The braised beef was so soft that it was falling off the bone. The stew that it came in was warm, spicy and flavorful and I could also see big chunks of potato and other vegetables in it. I really liked the big red pot that the beef was served in. It was decorated with gold on the sides. The braised beef was topped with some sliced red peppers for extra spice (They really used top quality ingredients here just like at Bashu Dajiang Hot Pot.).

Finally, the last thing that I had ordered was the sizzling shrimp and winter noodle. It was served on an electric burner so that it would remain hot. The shrimp was fresh and almost tasted sweet while the noodles were thin but chewy. The whole dish had been garnished with green onions and fried garlic and it added a lot of flavor to the dish.
