Emion Hotel Kyoto Laundry, Vending Machine & Sky Terrace: All the Things You Need During Your Stay
If you’re staying at the Emion Hotel in Kyoto, then you’re in luck (they also serve great breakfast here!). Not only is the hotel located in a very convenient space, close to the train station, but it also has all the amenities that anyone can need. I decided to check out the laundry room, vending machines and other facilities that the Emion Hotel had.
There were several washing machines in the laundry room so that multiple guests could wash their clothes at the same time.
Everything was neatly labelled and there were instructions given, along with pictures. There was no chance that I would fail to operate the machines on my own. Guests didn’t need to pour laundry detergent in these machines so that made everything easier.
The laundry room also had a washbasin in case I needed to scrub an especially stubborn spot. There was also a bench off to one side where a guest could sit down and wait while their laundry was being completed.
There was a cut-off point till which I could fill my clothes. I decided to use the washing machine that was labelled 1 since no one else was using it.
There were different rates that I should pay, depending on how long I ran the machine and the amount of clothes I needed to wash. It varied from 200 Yen to 900 Yen. Detergent was automatically pumped into the machine, according to the load.
While my clothes were being washed, I went to check out the vending machines.
There were dozens of different kinds of snacks and drinks that I could buy from the machines. I even saw a vending machine full of ice cream! Everything looked so bright and colorful and there were so many options that it was almost confusing.
The prices for each item were written below it. I thought it was a brilliant idea to have vending machines inside a hotel just in case the guests wanted a quick snack. They wouldn’t need to call the restaurant or order food to be made for them.
Finally, I decided to check out the Sky Terrace. I saw that it was open from 6am to 10pm and guests could visit during that time.
The terrace was pretty bare. There were only a few chairs and tables scattered around.
What really astonished me was the view from the Sky Terrace. It was quite late and the whole city was lit up. The bright lights against the night sky were extremely striking.
I was sure that during a clear day, the whole skyline of Kyoto would be visible from the Sky Terrace.
I could see the full moon shining brightly in the distance. And there were some laser lights that were moving about on the horizon. It was fascinating to just stand there and watch the lights.
The terrace had a wooden deck and plants were growing along the edges. It was actually a very pretty seating area. It was quite empty when I visited but it would make for a lovely hang out zone during winter afternoons or summer evenings.
