Gym, Swimming Pool & Sauna of Grand Hyatt Hotel Chengdu: Everything You Need for a Comfortable Stay
I entered the gym and found a number of wooden shelves filled with balls, gloves and some hand games.
There were even some resistance bands made of elastic.
A mini fridge held small bottles of water for people to drink.
At the entrance, there was a printer and a weighing machine.
The rules and regulations of the fitness center had been typed and hung up for all visitors to read.
I found it very interesting that there were even diagrams about CPR techniques. It would be useful in case of an emergency.
Drinking water had been kept in a corner and there were some yoga mats stored right beside the water container.
There was a row of elliptical cross trainers in front of some narrow mirrors.
On the other side of the room were a number of treadmills with screens that I could watch while exercising.
There was also a cable crossover machine in one corner.
It had pictures that showed me how to exercise my upper and lower body.
There was a weight training station filled with barbells and dumbbells.
There was an exercise bench right next to it and a big mirror so that people could see their form while training.
The dumbbells ranged from 17.5kg to 30kg and were kept in neat rows.
There were also smaller weights and some old, faded looking kettlebells.
Other exercise equipment included weight benches.
These would be perfect for strength training.
On the other hand, a lat pulldown machine could be used to exercise the arms.
All the equipment was clean and well-maintained. I could sit down on the benches without any worries.
There was so much advanced gym machinery in the Grand Hyatt gym, including weight benches and equipment that weren’t usually seen in hotel gyms!
Right beside a table were a pair of leg extension machines.
They had instructions and images to show how to work the machines.
There was also a leg curl machine.
All the equipment was manufactured by Technogym and were of the highest quality.
I wandered over to look at the chest press machines.
They were meant to exercise the chest muscles.
The shoulder press machine was very easy to use.
I liked how the machines had pictures showing which muscles should be exercised.
Then I went to see the swimming pool and the locker rooms of the hotel.
It looked extremely elegant and fancy. There were wooden floors and decorative wooden panels on the walls.
I walked through a narrow tunnel-like place and stepped out into the actual swimming pool area.
The water temperature, PH level and level of chlorine had been provided for the information of the guests.
Children under a certain height or younger than 12 years were asked to wear life jackets before getting into the pool.
The life jackets had been provided and were hanging neatly on a rack.
The pool area was very beautiful. There was a lot of yellow accent lighting.
Lounge chairs had been placed against one wall so that guests who didn’t want to swim could just lounge about and relax.
The floor of the pool was tiled in blue and green and steps led down into the water.
There was a comfortable looking daybed made of cane on a deck.
The shallow baby pool was right in the middle of the room.
There was a large skylight in the middle of the room so that the whole pool area looked very bright and well-lit during the daytime.
The ceiling was very high in the center of the room.
They had walkways between the pools so that people could easily walk from one end of the room to the other.
I could see the water rippling a little.
Shallow steps led into the pool.
It was one of the most beautiful swimming pools I had ever seen.
I walked around the whole place, taking pictures.
There was a tall lifeguard’s seat on one side.
I could see the sun shining through the skylight.
The walls had a very interesting pattern.
The skylight made the pool area seem like it was outdoors without actually being outdoors. The water looked even greener because of the sunshine.
A lane had been created with the help of a rope on one side. So a person could swim laps if they wanted to.
I could see a lifeguard sitting in the center of the room. He was keeping an eye on everything.
But the pool was empty when I visited.
A sign showed that the pool was 1.4m deep at one end.
Then I went to the female locker rooms.
There was a list of rules for the changing rooms as well. Only hotel guests could use the pool and the changing rooms.
It was a lovely changing room. It felt very rich and luxurious.
There was wood and marble everywhere. Even the floors and the walls looked like they were made of marble.
A bin could be used to dispose of used towels. The bin was made of cane and had an odd shape.
Fresh towels were stored on a shelf. They were neatly rolled up and piled on top of each other.
There was a Jacuzzi in the changing room with marble walls on three sides.
Wooden steps led up to it. Bath mats had been laid on the steps so that guests would not slip while coming out of the water.
The Jacuzzi was private and dimly lit. Guests could have a relaxing dip right before getting dressed.
The changing room even had a sauna.
I went inside and took a look around. There were benches along the walls where guests could sit down and enjoy the warmth.
There was a caution notice on the wall.
The wooden benches, buckets and ladles gave the room a charming, old-fashioned look.
Hot coals were used to heat the room from one corner.
There was a gauge to check the temperature.
Finally, I took a look at the showers.
The changing room was empty when I went inside.
A vanity station had hairdryers and brushes.
There were lockers to store valuables.
